Origin Of Name:A 1917 book, "Your National Parks" by Enos Mills describes Devils Tower as being "Near Tower, Wyoming, which is 32 miles from Moorcroft on the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad." (Mills)Tower Post Office was established on September 26, 1908 with Lucille L. Marshall as postmaster. It was discontinued on September 30, 1919 after which its mail was handled by the Carlile Post Office.
