History:Cooke Post Office was established on December 23, 1881 in Sweetwater County prior to the formation of Park County. W. H. Randall was the postmaster. It was discontinued on January 31, 1882 and its mail then handled by the Mammoth Hot Springs Post Office. (Wyoming Post Offices) "The Wyoming Post Office was discontinued on January 31, 1882 and opened as a Montana Post Office the next day." (Blevins, 1999)
