History:Burge Post Office was established on October 2, 1913 with Ethel B. Sheppard as postmaster. It was discontinued on February 15, 1921 but re-established on April 23, 1921. It was discontinued again on February 28, 1930 and its mail then handled by the Torrington Post Office. (Wyoming Post Offices) Postoffice in Goshen County, 24 miles north of Torrington, the county seat. Van Tassell is the nearest railroad and banking point.
