History:Albin Post Office was established on February 7, 1905 with J. Albin Anderson as its first postmaster. (Wyoming Post Offices) Albin, Population 50, Laramie County. A village first settled in 1905, 45 miles northeast of Cheyenne, the county seat and 17 miles from Pine Bluff, the nearest banking and shipping point. Has a Swedish Baptist church. Stage three times a week to Gallis (sic Galleo), Salem and Pine Bluff, fare $1.00. Telephone connection. Mail three times per week. (Gazetteer, 1908-9) A postoffice in Laramie County. Origin Of Name:Named for John Albin Anderson, first postmaster, (appointed in 1905 by Teddy Roosevelt and to 1936 was only postmaster to hold the post.) The town site was laid out in 1928 by the Union Pacific Railroad. Mr. Anderson moved the store and post office from his farm to town at that time.
