History:Belle Post Office was established on June 18, 1907 with Thomas M. Coffey as postmaster. It was discontinued on January 31, 1918 after which its mail was handled by Alva Post Office. (Wyoming Post Offices) Belle, Crook County. A post office on the Belle Fourche River, 50 miles north of Sundance, the county seat, 28 miles west of Aladdin, the nearest shipping point and 19 miles north of Hulett, the banking town.
