History:Arminto was surveyed for the Burlington Northern Railroad in October, 1913. (Riverton Review October 03, 1913, page 5) Arminto Post Office was established on February 21, 1914. (Wyoming Post Offices) Town in Natrona County on the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Rail Road, 59 miles west of Casper the county seat. Casper and Shoshoni are the nearest banking points. Origin Of Name:This town was named after Manuel Armentam who owned the "Jack Pot" ranch which was near the station of the railroad. The railway company eventually changed the spelling. (WPA) Named for Manuel Armenta who started the Jack Pot Ranch nearby. The Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad changed the spelling.
